More Mom Comments!
March 31, 2008 by patricia.
Hi Patricia!
We had our little guy on 2/29 Leap year baby!
Already tried it out and loved it
He wore the hat for his “go home hat”
Funny thing is, he screamed loudest since he was born when he had to take him out of it for a blood test, I came waddling out of the restroom wondering what was wrong with him, and my hubby told me it was because we took him out of his cozy cocoon!
I am still recovering, but will get it written when I get some sleep and get my wits about me. <yeah in like 18 years that will happen>
Just wanted to let you know I really love it and can’t wait to order more! Thanks…. BEST new item bought!!!,I LOVE the Cozy Cocoon and can’t say enough good things about it. I bought the salmon color (not organic) before my baby was born in hopes he liked being swaddled for any length of time (unlike my other kids). Well, thankfully he loves to be swaddled but part of that I think is just due to the Cocoon! Like other people I’ve read before have said, my baby immediately calms once I start to put on his cocoon, before I even roll it all the way up! He has gotten to know what I’m doing and even that calms him! Before this, I had only used blankets to swaddle and there is no comparison. WELL worth the money I paid for his and then some. As far as sizing goes, these do seem to accomodate a growing baby well because of how stretchy they are. Like they say, this is like a stretchy tshirt material, lightweight and not too warm. It works perfectly over a sleeper for nights at our house. My baby is now 8 weeks old and until recently, was in his cocoon throughout the day. Since he’s gotten to where he likes to play and kick in the day, now he only sleeps in it, but if I don’t put it on him before bed, he is NOT a happy camper! I ordered a size small, seeing as my kids have been average size at birth but he came out 9.4 and 22 inches long and this cocoon is still fitting him 8 weeks later, though much more snug.
He can get his arms and hands out of it if he wants them free, and sometimes just prefers to keep them tucked in and cozy all night. I am writing this review because I was looking to purchase a 2nd one in the large size so he can wear it even longer.
The only thing I recommend besides buying one of these is buying TWO! With a newborn, and washing as much as you have to.. a few times I’ve needed this for bedtime and forgotten to wash it or had to wait for it to dry (washes and dries very nicely too!).. so my only regret is not getting more!

CoolMomPicks: Babies That Actually Sleep Like Babies
July 25, 2007 by patricia.
this just went up today. Tons of unusual, practical, one-of-kind-picks from a pair of real Moms that understand that most of us do have budgets. They include in their mission statement that their “focus is non-mainstream products and services, particularly those from indie designers and mom/women-run companies.” We vouch that they do succeed.

Wists: the blog that’s not a blog
July 12, 2007 by patricia.
this is a kind of blog that calls itself a “wist” or web list of shareable images that was created to “make finding well designed, interesting or unusual products and collectibles both simple and fun” and “make publishing or sharing lists of recommendations and wishlists easier and more appealing than maintaining a weblog and not tied to one particular store.” it’s interesting and absolutely eclectic.

Parent Dish: When swaddling is too hard
July 5, 2007 by admin.
Maybe it’s your choice of swaddlers that makes swaddling too hard; we think we have some that are the easiest and the coziest. With lots of daily posts and a category listing that looks like a phone book, this blog, which has an especially large chuck devoted to celebrity kids and their parents, is always an interesting read.

iVillage: Swaddling Sock, Snug as a Bug
July 2, 2007 by patricia.
One of our earliest blogs from one of the first, and still one of the best, Mom oriented websites. In a separate article they say: “No, it’s not a strangely oversized sock ‑- it’s swaddling for dummies! If you’re not exactly skilled in the art of babygami, Cozy Cocoon’s body sock buntings are the perfect solution. Slip one on your newborn to give her the cozy, comfy déjà vu feeling of what it was like back in your womb … these socks can accommodate babies of all heights, allowing those little limbs to explore and stretch safely.”

Mommies with Style: Cozy Cocoons take the wads out of swaddling
July 2, 2007 by patricia.
We’ve been blogged twice by these stylish moms so far. they re-blogged us earlier this year when another writer had her next cozy kid (Swaddling with the Cozy Cocoon, the lazy Mom’s way). their message board is real lively, and helpful, too. we’re looking forward to their next visit.

We love getting pictures back from our customers of their new little someones in their new Cocoons. here’s one from a mom that was so cute, we replaced (with her permission) our picture of the Baby Bunting on our website with her’s.
thanks also to one of our resellers on Jackson Road in Ann Arbor, Michigan (go Blue!), Tree City Diapers, where Courtney buys her Cocoons.
